This autumn, the Panthéon is hosting a unique cultural event in the heart of the Latin Quarter. From September 24, 2026 to January 31, 2027, the Vies minuscules exhibition invites visitors to look at history from a different perspective, giving a voice to those who are usually left in the shadows of grand historical narratives.
When Anonymous Lives Enter the Panthéon
Created by the Centre Pompidou and the Centre des monuments nationaux, the exhibition takes its title from Pierre Michon’s book published in 1984. Inside a monument dedicated to the great figures of the French nation, Vies minuscules instead focuses on anonymous, forgotten or marginalised lives.
The exhibition takes over the nave of the Panthéon and brings together around thirty artists spanning more than a century of artistic creation. Through painting, photography, sculpture, video and installations, visitors can discover works by artists including František Kupka, Christian Boltanski, Mathieu Pernot, Clarisse Hahn and Jumana Manna.
The result is a particularly striking dialogue between the monumentality of the Panthéon and these more intimate stories.
A Cultural Escape from Hôtel Albe Saint-Michel
Located at 1 rue de la Harpe, in the heart of Saint-Michel, Hôtel Albe Saint-Michel is an excellent starting point for discovering this exhibition and exploring the Latin Quarter.
After your visit, continue your walk around the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève and the Luxembourg Gardens, or head back towards the banks of the Seine and Notre-Dame.
Vies minuscules is therefore a wonderful opportunity to combine contemporary art, heritage and the discovery of historic Paris during a stay on the Left Bank.
Practical information: the exhibition runs from September 24, 2026 to January 31, 2027 at the Panthéon. Admission to the exhibition is included with the monument entrance ticket.
